Christmas and snow

We did a small Christmas this year because we are going on a cruise in 35 days! Aizy got a Barney DVD and opened it first. She didn't want to open any other presents, just wanted to watch the movie. Haha that wasn't the plan! Instead of watching Barney we had breakfast with the Stanger family and opened those gifts. Lunch was at the Anderson's. It was too windy for us to swim this time.
We didnt have a white Christmas but we got snow the next day. When I put Aizy down in it, it didnt seem to phase her; she just walked to the car. But yesterday he fell into it and it got her hands wet. She did not like that at all!
Aizy is really into books right now. She doesn't have the attention span to sit through a whole book unless you only read one or two lines a page.
Home update- the support wall in the basement is framed, the rest of the framing should start Monday! Yay!
Paul and I have to speak tomorrow in church. Not yay about that.
I'm almost ready to order the book of my blog for 2012! I will wait until Tuesday though, you never know what will happen in a few days.

Early Christmas

BSU played their bowl game in Las Vegas over the weekend. My dad and Paul went and Summer stayed here with Aizy and me. We did Christmas with my family last night and they headed home today. We are going to do Christmas with Paul's family this year, I think there's a dinner in Christmas day that we miss because we drive to Boise every year.
Paul and my dad went to the outlets in Vegas and got Aizy some cute cute pumas! She loves them. She really does, she brings them to us and lifts her feet up. So cute haha!
House update- footings were poured Friday for the garage. They'll finish the garage later this week. Framing should start after the new year!

Sad day for CT

Today was a sad, sad day in CT. A crazy man killed his mother, a kindergarten teacher, and 20 children, mostly kindergarten kids. He killed 7 adults and was dead inside the school. There weren't many details when I watched the news this afternoon but he killed another adult at their home in New Jersey. It's a sad day for those families and all those students and teachers at the school. Paul texted me and said if I ever go back to teaching, it can only be online. And he said Aizy will stay home with him all day (he will apparently be home all day too...) prayers for those families...
So many things are scary in this world. Things I watch on TV make me very cautious but this is real life. The world might just end on 12-21-12.
On a completely different note, they got more stuff done on our house. Well is drilled and forms are taken down. Today they are back filling and hopefully pouring the basement floors but its supposed to rain/snow so I'm not sure if they're going to do it anyway.

Things I love

Things, not people!
- my car: someone in college told me they could see me in a Subaru and I thought that was odd cuz I'm not a hippie. But I love, love, love my car. I feel safe in it no matter what the weather. And one time I saw an accident on the Perrine Bridge and the Subaru wasn't smashed like the other car. That's when I knew I needed one of those!
- infrared heater: cuz I live in a cold basement!
-Barney: because Aizy loves it!
- grocery outlet: Paul told me he shopped there on his mission but it wasn't located on the right side of town for me to go there regularly. But now that we moved to the other side, I go there and then go to Walmart to get anything they didn't have. They have great prices on yogurt, cheese, bread, and all kinds of brand name stuff. Plus they compare everything to "their prices" so at the end of my receipt I can see how much I saved. Love it!
-amazon: Christmas shopping.
-Christmas and Pinterest: duh, who doesn't?! But the combination! The holiday season allows me to bake all those yummy things as give them away or take them to a party after I try it.
-turbo fire: in preparation for our cruise in 53 days, I bought this workout program. 15 workouts ranging from 10-60 minutes. And the short ones are maybe harder because they are SO intense! I love doing a short workout and feeling so productive.
-that out basement has started!: self explanatory
-dishwashers: because I don't have one
- when Aizy falls asleep in the car and I carry her in and she stays asleep: self explanatory.

Oh Aizy!

Aizys getting so big! Well not literally but her mind is growing. Along with learning how to throw a fit, she has learned to point and go "uh uh uh" but really high pitched to tell us what she wants. I'm afraid she won't learn words cuz when I try to get her to say one, she just smiles. She does say mom, dad (occasionally but most people are mom), papa, Kkkkk is kitty (or any animal really), ball and bear and an attempt of baby, Hi, nummy num, and an attempt at puppy.
She knows a few animal sounds- kitty, wolf, how bunnies scrunch their noses and fishes look like they're giving kisses. She can point to your eyes and her eyes as well as nose. Mouth will be next. She has really discovered books recently. She will bring them to me and go "uh uh uh" until I read them. If you turn the pages fast enough, she'll actually hold still through a whole book! And she will sit on your lap even. This is rare. Tonight I was reading her ABC book over and over a d switched it up. Instead of pointing to pictures of what she knows, I asked her where they were. I am not lying about this next part! She correctly pointed to apple, baby, ball, bear, tried to kiss the frog (really not sure why). She called the gorilla a bear (easy mistake,) called the ice cream nummy- num, correctly pointed to kitty and puppy and growled when I asked where the lion was. I guess all my reading has paid off :)
She had 8 teeth now and almost won't eat if she can't feed it to herself. She has been very difficult to feed recently for that reason. Also, she will devour one thing one day and the the next day spit it out! Frustrating, yes. She slept sooo well and then we were in Boise for a week and she needs to be retrained I guess. We are working on it.
She calls balloons balls, even if they aren't the round kind. She gets so excited when she hears the front door open cuz only Paul comes in that way. It's so cute! I've been working out recently (prepping for our cruise) and if she is awake when I do it, she laughs! I realize its cuz she also laughs when I dance but it seems more offensive when I'm working out. Haha she has learned that a phone, when she is told to look at it, is doing something that she wants to see. So when I try to take a video or picture, she comes around to try to view it. Makes it kinda hard to catch anything!
They put up the forms for the basement walls today and plan on pouring them tomorrow! If all goes as planned, out concrete will be done by Tuesday. I will believe it when I see it though. Either way, very excited!
This picture of Paul was from after high school but before his mission. I had to post it for my posterity. I think he's dang cute in it :)
